The Emperor & The Explorer is a two player game inspired by the novel Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. It is a game about imaginary lands, the Emperor who rules them, and the Explorer who travels them.
One player takes on the role of the Emperor, whose domain is without borders or limits, but who knows nothing of their empire.
The other will take on the role of the Explorer, who has traveled these lands for a long, weary time, and at last comes to the court of the Emperor, laden with trinkets and gifts, to describe their own empire to them.
The Explorer must beware: the Emperor's displeasure is barbed with a thousand horrific tortures. Their favor, however, carries the promise of a thousand blissful lifetimes...
